LIVE 1910 SNOW WHITE DISCOVERED IN ENGLAND
Monday, April 4 2005
|
A live motion picture adaptation of Snow White, produced in 1910 and unknown to film historians, has been discovered in England among dozens of other films dating back to the 19th century, the London Daily Telegraph reported today (Monday). The cache had been accumulated by the late John Huntley, who had willed it to the British Film Institute. BFI archivist James Webster told the newspaper, "I did not really have any expectations of what we might find when we began looking through the material, but it never crossed my mind that there would be a film adaptation of Snow White which we had never even heard of. Much of the material is not labeled so we are having to work out what it might be. Obviously there are clues in the films themselves."
