Synopsis:
Art and politics collides as a Federal Theatre Project musical in the 1930s is vilified by conservatives and falls victim to the paranoia of the anti-Communist fervor of the times. A gaggle of performers, including a one-time mistress to Mussolini, as well as Nelson Rockefeller engage in the controversies that occur when government and art overlap.
