Synopsis: An idealistic young lawyer takes up the very unpopular defense of his grizzled grandfather who is under a death sentence for a decades-earlier bombing which resulted in two young Civil Rights activist's death. His defense of his Klansman kin is rife with political and legal impediments, and with the assistance of a young black legal aide, he comes to discover a possible a racist killing conspiracy that extended far beyond his grandfather's sorry actions and threaten now to upset the whole Civil Rights applecart in the New South.
