Synopsis: A U.S. officer in Operation Desert Storm who mistakenly ordered his men to fire at a tank that turned out to be one of their own, is quietly assigned to a Pentagon desk job. Ironically, the good soldier's new post requires him to assess candidates for the Medal of Honor. One candidate, a female officer killed during the Operation, is a candidate and her case is pushed by higher ups, including the White House, for the public relations benefits the Armed Services would receive if a female won that honor. In his research and investigation of the merits of her candidacy, done in a painstakingly fair and methodic manner, he uncovers many surprises and alarming facts about the actual battle.
