Synopsis: An adolesent girl sent to a renowned New England psychiatric hospital where she spent the next two years in a ward for teenage girls.

Comment: Based on Susanna Kaysen's biographical memoir "Girl Interrupted." Set in 1967 - 69, story is Kaysen's recollection of McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., a private mental institution where she lived from age 17 through 19 after trying to commit suicide just to get her parents to notice her.
