Synopsis: In 1776 a South Carolina widower with a violent temper and seven children to care for becomes swept up in the Revolutionary War when a British officer murders one of his sons and is about to hang another. With revenge on his mind, he commits to harassing and killing British soldiers, leading a militia unit in hit-and-run assaults on the hated British Redcoats.

Comment: Mid six figure purchase. Roland Emmerich's first ever epic period piece based on a script not written by him.
