Synopsis:
A forlorn single mother, recently landed in the United States from her Czechoslovakia, toils in a factory in a bleak town in the Pacific Northwest during the 1960s. To keep her from being depressed and to overcome her dreary life, she escapes into fantasy reveries that transport her to the bright and cheery Hollywood musicals of the ‘30s. These colorful musicals, with their dashing promises of hope and love, help her deal with an inevitable fate – she is going blind.
