Synopsis: Three working-class women experience romantic and financial woes while trying to eke out a living and a life in the squalor of modern-day South London. With only marginal support, both financially and emotionally, from the men in their lives, the three try to make do while dealing with a world that at once numbs them with its incessant sameness while, at the same time, it brutalizes them with its franticness. Through it all, they struggle not to become deadened to any sense of wonder and hope that might someday occur in their lives.
