Synopsis:
While the film is a humorous portrait of a great artist, it is also an important cultural landmark: Ramblin' Jack Elliott is the link between Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. But The movie is also the filmmaker's candid search for the inner person behind a legendary father - a father that was rarely at home. The Ballad Of Ramblin' Jack features scenes of contemporary and vintage performances from this unique American artist, as well as inimtate interviews and rare and never-before-seen footage from the Guthrie family, D.A. Pennebaker, Bob Dylan and Alan Lomax.
