Synopsis: A Miami dentist learns that his birth mother has died in Alaska and goes to collect his inheritance -- the world's greatest sled dog team. Fueled by dangerous ignorance and with a fierce determination, he decides to run the dogs in the Iditarod -- the 1150-mile winter sled-dog race between Anchorage and Nome.

Comment: Loosely based on Gary Paulsen's account of his seventeen-day battle against mature's worst elements and his own frailty during his attempt to run the Iditarod -- the 1150-mile winter sled-dog race between Anchorage and Nome.
