Synopsis: A high school teacher takes a group of troubled teens and, through creative writing, turns them around and makes them successful students and happier kids.

Comment: Based on the book the book 'The Freedom Writer's Diaries: How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them', written by high school teacher Erin Gruwell and her students. Originally set up at Universal, Paramount picked up out of turnaround.
