Synopsis: A warrior soldier known only as "Master Chief" battles a group of alien religious zealots who believe one of their most sacred artifacts is located on Earth.

Comment: Once Garland the finishes script, Microsoft Game Division will offer it to studios as a complete "turnkey" script and rights package. Garland was paid $1 million dollars to write the script in February 2005. Fox and Uni paid $10 million against 15% of the gross in a two hour limit bidding war in which they prevailed.

10/19/06 Round Two! - Fox and Uni ditch on project all together citing Microsoft's 15% of gross and budget they suspect will escalate to 200 mil. Producers stay on, and 27 year old first time helmer Blomkamp on too for now...

10/30/2006 - Microsoft annouces it will halt pre-pro, Jacksons's digi-effects co. Weta had been working on effects, and put project on hold as it could get no other studio takers. 10/07/10: The New York Magazine’s Vulture has reported DreamWorks and Spielberg himself are “renewing its efforts to obtain the rights and revive the project.”
