Synopsis: A homeless man, seemingly suffering from exposure and drug-related maladies, dies mysteriously in a big-city hospital. His unusual demise, right after he seemingly had stabilized, attracts the obsessive attention of a young doctor whose launches a personal investigation against the advice of all higher-ups. The young healer begins to suspect that someone on the staff is conducting experiments on derelicts and crosses swords with a brilliant, senior colleague in his pursuit of what is really lurking under the daily mayhem of the E.R.
