Synopsis: A small-town Texas sheriff, whose father was a local lawman legend, undertakes an investigation of some skeletal remains. The bones turn out to be the frame of a former local bad guy, who had long-standing grudges against the sheriff’s late father. Most troubling about the discovery, the remains contain his father’s badge, causing the sheriff to wonder how the man met his demise. He investigates, and his informal queries take him to dark recesses of his family history as well as skeletons in the town’s closet. In uncovering these old bones, he finds that their marrows of crime and corruption still coarse through the small town.
