Synopsis: A simple-minded, middle-aged man, who has been incarcerated since age 12 when he killed his mother's scummy lover and her as well, is paroled to a world he has never experienced as an adult. Overwhelmed by life on the outside, he wishes to return to the safety of the institution but that is not an option. He finally lands a job fixing car engines in his small Southern hometown where a trusting teen befriends him. Most dangerously, he finds that the boy's mother is in an abusive relationship, stirring the man's sense of moral duty once again.
