Synopsis: A yuppie UCLA doctor whose mania for power and status is greater than any humanitarian urges to heal, diagnoses a hoodlum with inoperate stomach cancer. In a fit of desperate rage and envy, the stricken tough guy kidnaps the doctor, leading him on a wild cross-desert trek across Arizona in search of a spiritual healing oasis he heard existed among the Navajos. The two unlikely travelers bond on the journey, and the doctor reveals a personal, deeply human layer that is unexpected. Encountering an old hippie as well as other roadside rattlers, the battling duo come to heal, each in their own way.
