Synopsis: A slick, fast-talking promoter rallies a small-town to put on a musical celebrating its 150th anniversary with promises and implications that he will someday take the show to Broadway. Marshalling the town's eager, but largely untalented populace stage a production and in the process straining the burg's finances, the promoter milks the locals for all their worth, playing on their dreams, as well as their gullible, rube-like outlooks.
