Synopsis: A man who has been living in a bomb shelter for 30 years emerges to find supplies and a new wife.

Comment: opens during the cuban missile crisis. it follows the fortunes of a typical american family who decide to hide in a bomb shelter to survive the nuclear strike. in order to avoid the fallout, the family stays in the shelter for 35 years only to re-emerge in the 1990's los angeles, where they are faced with coping with modern-day attitudes, politics and realities. worse, their son, now 35 and equiped only with 1950's sensibilities, has to search for the perfect partner.
