Synopsis: A suicidal car dealer, plagued by a chemically dependent wife while his lover/secretary mismanages his financial empire, struggles to maintain his grip on reality. His sanity is further tested by his reclusive, piano-playing son and the arrival of a struggling writer, whose worthiness is only recognized by the porn world.

Comment: film version of kurt vonnegut's novel. a wildly comic portrait of a fictional town in middle america that is home to a group of idiosyncratic characters. bruce willis stars as dwayne hoover, a wealthy owner of a car dealership on the brink of suicide and starting to lose touch with reality.
