SUPERMAN DIRECTOR QUITS Thursday, March 20 2003    It appeared Wednesday that Superman had been struck with a massive amount of Kryptonite. Director Brett Ratner quit the Jon Peters project following word that Brendan Fraser and soap-opera actor Matthew Bomer were no longer in contention for the title role in the Warner Bros. movie.
