PENTAGON EVICTS RIVERA

The Pentagon said Monday that it will expel Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera from his position with members of the 101st Airborne after his report for the news channel in which he sketched a map in the sand to show a planned mission. Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said, "He gave real-time information about a unit's location, their mission and their pending activity, which would clearly aid the enemy." However, the Washington Post reported that, after receiving a phone call from Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes, the Pentagon apparently agreed to allow Rivera to be voluntarily recalled instead of being officially evicted. Rivera later went on the air to remark: "It sounds to me like some rats at my former network, NBC, are spreading lies about me . . . trying to stab me in the back."
