Bob Strauss in the Los Angeles Daily News says that One Tough Cop reminds him of an "uninspired episode of NYPD Blue that goes on too long. ... If you're not interested in self-destructive stupidity or counting how many expletives can be squeezed into an hour-and-a-half, you'll likely get bored pretty quick." Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times opines that the film incorporates "all of the clichés of cop movies." Rick Groen, the Toronto Globe & Mail's critic actually lists the clichés numerically, from 1-10. |
