20th Century Fox presents a film directed by Tom Green. Written by Green and Derek Harvie. Running time: 93 minutes. Rated R (for crude sexual and bizarre humor and strong language).
Talk about bad reviews -- they simply don't get any worse than those for Freddy Got Fingered, starring (and directed and co-written by) Tom Green. CNN film critic Paul Clinton calls it "quite simply the worst move ever released by a major studio in Hollywood history." Stephen Hunter begins his review in the Washington Post this way: "If ever a movie testified to the utter creative bankruptcy of the Hollywood film industry, it is the abomination known as Freddy Got Fingered." Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times calls it a "vomitorium." Several reviewers refer to a scene in the movie in which an extra holds up a placard that asks: "When the f*** is this movie going to end?" They agree: not soon enough. |
