Revolution Studios presents a film directed by Perry Andelin Blake. Written by Dana Carvey and Harris Goldberg. Running time: 80 minutes. Rated PG (for mild language and some crude humor).
Critics are doing little to disguise their contempt for Dana Carvey's The Master of Disguise. Jack Mathews in the New York Daily News: "The film contains no good jokes, no good scenes, barely a moment when Carvey's Saturday Night Live-honed mimicry rises above the level of embarrassment." Elvis Mitchell in the New York Times: "It doesn't matter that the film is less than 90 minutes. It still feels like a prison stretch." Steven Rea in the Philadelphia Inquirer: "Cruelly and brutally unfunny." Noting that the movie last 65 minutes and is followed by 15 minutes of credits, Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times comments: "The movie is like a party guest who thinks he is funny and is wrong. The end credits are like the same guest taking too long to leave." |
