U.S. Marshals, in which Tommy Lee Jones appears again as his character in The Fugitive, clearly suffers from comparison with the earlier movie. John Anderson, writing for the Los Angeles Times and Newsday says that in the new movie, "every subtle aspect of the original has been taken to its seemingly inevitable extreme." The Philadelphia Inquirer's Desmond Ryan concludes that this "follow-up is hardly worth pursuing."
